Hello, everyone,

I just made a couple of additions to the calendar for March and April so thought I would drop you a line. As we say goodbye to winter and prepare to welcome spring, this is a great time for some real self-care and nurturing.

As you know, my website, www.dalepearsonyoga.com, is set up so that registration takes place at the beginning of each month prior to the sessions. You can contact me personally if you need to vary this. The Absolute Stress Release workshop is just a one time opportunity to relieve chronic stress and really relax. All you have to do is register, it’s easy, and you will be sent a direct link to Zoom.

When I first started working with chronic stress more than thirty years ago, we were already recognizing its detrimental effects on body and mind. Individuals like Dr. Herbert Benson, Jon Kabat Zinn, and Dr. Kenneth Pelletier were leading the charge, and publications like Business Week were paying attention with quotes like this, “Cornell University calls STRESS the most debilitating medical and social problem today.”

Today, we understand more than ever that, while stress is a necessary part of life, often motivating us in positive ways, CHRONIC STRESS, the kind we find persists and wears us down, can have many undesirable side effects, ranging from simple anxiety to heart disease.

All of the classes below support the mindful awareness and deep relaxation that help bring us into better health and balance.

CHAIR AND QI

Wednesdays, 11 am - 12 noon

YIN YOGA

Mondays, 1 pm - 2:15 pm

ABSOLUTE STRESS RELEASE (Evening Workshop)

Wednesday, March 17, 7 pm - 9 pm

CHAIR AND QI

Chair Yoga and Qi Gong are excellent and accessible ways for all individuals, including older adults, individuals coping with flexibility or balance issues, or for those recuperating from joint issues or chronic pain to reduce stress, loosen and stretch painful muscles, and improve the circulation of qi (energy) and blood. They also reduce anxiety, help lower blood pressure, protect joints, and build strength and balance. We experience improved mobility, flexibility, and sense of wellbeing.

This is a unique class that brings together Dale's unique skills in a way that is fun, relaxing, and informative. In this class we incorporate knowledge of the energetic meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine, practice accupressure, relaxing breath work, and include guided meditation to provide us with all the elements needed for a healthy, balanced life. Each class offers simple movements to gently stimulate our mental, physical and emotional health.

“Through Dale’s classes, I have managed to improve my balance and concentration, and my doctor tells me that I am now one of his most flexible clients in my age group. What a fantastic feeling, both mentally and physically.”

Michael B.

"Thank you for another great class! I love them." Michelle P.

YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga is a slow, mindful practice that takes us deep into a field of self discovery and relaxation, and fosters the release of chronic pain and tightness in the body. Obstructions dissolve, muscles relax, tensions let go, and fascia releases. We activate and nourish our connective tissues, awaken the energetic meridians to promote health and ease, and cultivate mindful awareness. Expect to feel a deep sense of relaxation and release throughout your whole body in this practice that will access your parasympathetic nervous system and leave you feeling restored and refreshed. You will sense a deep release of long held tensions that may reside in your muscles, joints and tissues. Tight hips, sore backs, tension headaches begin to dissolve with this practice. At the same time, Yin teaches us how to be calm, patient and non-reactive.

“Although I thought that I was over most of my stress, it (Yin) brought it down even further to the point that I am now able to make life changing decisions regarding issues that were on my mind but previously couldn't really deal with.”

Cheryl S.

“As an athlete I hadn’t even realized how much the tightness in my fascia and my sore joints were restricting my flexibility. My aches and pains have decreased and my range of movement is improving all the time.”

Ron D.

ABSOLUTE STRESS RELEASE

Chronic stress, which is constant and persists over an extended period of time, can be debilitating and overwhelming. Chronic stress can affect both our physical and psychological well-being by causing a variety of problems including anxiety, insomnia, muscle pain, high blood pressure and a weakened immune system. We can learn to elicit our body's natural capacity to unwind and relax. This experiential workshop will bring you into a state of relaxation you may have forgotten about! Everyone can do this. The Relaxation Response is a neurological skill. All you need is a little time, a quiet space, a chair or a comfortable place to lie down, and perhaps a blanket for the final deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra). You have the power to control your response to stress, rather than let stress control you. I've used these techniques with hundreds of people who now get better sleep, enjoy better health, and feel generally happier and more at ease.

I always welcome questions and inquiries, and can work with you on an individual basis to help you find your way back to physical, mental, and emotional health.
