December is filled with opportunities to celebrate, from Winter Solstice and the return of light, to Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and a host of other observances we mark and honour all around the world.
But we all know that this can be a super stressful time of year, even without a pandemic. We want to make this festive season as safe, warm, and enjoyable as possible for ourselves and those around us. In order to do this, we must put aside some time to bring the body into relaxation and to de-stress physically, mentally and emotionally. We can learn to down-regulate the autonomic nervous system with a few simple practices that can help keep us more centred and calm. When we feel fewer effects of chronic stress we feel kinder, calmer, and more generous of spirit, and isn't that what the season is all about?

Stress can be a great motivator and is a natural state that all humans experience. Stress has many benefits, from giving us greater focus and energy, to strengthening our personal relationships. But the wear and tear of chronic stress, stress that hangs around even when there is no need for it, can be really hard on us.
In this free community session Dale will guide you through some simple techniques and guided meditations to relieve stress, ease the emotions, and set you up for a happier holiday season. Discover tips and tools to make your season calm and bright. All you have to do is show up:) You may want to wear warm, comfortable clothing and have a blanket or pillow on hand.
You can find the link under Classes at www.dalepearsonyoga.com. It is my gift to you, and to anyone you feel may benefit from taking a little time out for themselves. Once you register, you will receive an email with a direct link to join us on Zoom, Sunday, December 20, at 7:30 pm. Its easy, its fun, and it will make you feel good. We can create our own community of practice together, despite the challenges of our time.
While you're there, check out Yin Yoga for January, and a special introductory course in Mindfulness and Meditation beginning January 6.
I wish you all much warmth and joy to fill these winter days.
In peace,
Dale
