PEACE OF MIND, A SMILE, AND AWAKENED ENERGY

A few days ago I passed by a neighbour’s house. Three young girls were on the porch, waving and giggling and full of joy. Their unrestrained excitement for life sparked a jolt of awareness that had been lingering in the background of my mind.


As I spoke with friends and looked around my community I realized that the weight of the world was too often heavy upon us, and more than ever, we need to offer ourselves opportunities for self care that will bring peace of mind, a smile, and awakened energy into our lives.


This doesn’t mean we aren’t being appropriately responsive to the situations we face. It means that we are better equipping ourselves to experience life with strength and resilience, despite the burdens thrust upon us. When we put aside our concerns to mindfully nourish and care for ourselves, this build us up to be able to give to others without depleting our body, mind and spirit to the point of exhaustion.


Over the next couple of months I’m offering classes and courses that will renew your spirit, awaken your energy, calm your anxieties, and bring your mind and body into grounded wholeness. From Learning Mindful Meditation to Shakti Warrior Skills and Drills to Yin Yoga offering a sleep-enhancing Yoga In Bed session, we can find ways to replenish our energy and connect with our inner strength.

The pandemic has affected us all in different ways, but the bottom line is we still all need to exercise self care.


There have been many practices in my life that have supported my health and wellbeing at every level, even when times are stressful. Meditation, yoga, and belly dance may seem very different from each other, but influenced by mindful awareness and stress reduction strategies, each brings peace of mind, a smile, and awakened energy into my life.
